When you head to Manyara’s Secret in the morning, you’ll see so many children walking to school.

The Tanzanian government is making strong progress in getting more children into education, especially in creating opportunities for girls. This positive development is clearly visible in our neighborhood.

For many parents, however, it remains a challenge to provide their children with school meals. That is where Every Child, Every Day steps in. By making sure there is a nutritious meal at school, parents feel reassured, and children have the energy they need to focus and learn.

In just over a year, the program expanded from one school to four, and now it is accelerating. Today, Every Child, Every Day supports 3,500 children with breakfast and makes sure their lunches contain all the nutrients they need to grow up healthy.

Together with a partner organization, Wild Nature Institute, we ensure complete and balanced food. This very engaged organization provides beans, maize, salt, and cooking oil. Moreover, their cook ensures that the meal is prepared in a traditional way.

From Manyara’s Secret, we ensure weekly deliveries of:

• 15,000 bananas
• 225 white cabbages (= 790 kilos)

Whenever we start supporting a new school, our construction team comes in. We first build a proper storage facility and a kitchen. This guarantees that food can be kept safely, and meals can be prepared efficiently.

We also make sure that every child receives their own plate and spoon, so no one has to share anymore.

• Attendance is 100%, and classes are expanding.

At Manyara’s Secret we purchase bananas and cabbages locally, support small-scale farmers, transport supplies to the schools, and monitor the process. Most importantly, we guarantee continuity. Because when food is there every day, children can thrive.
